Crimson Desert’s latest patch will help with your post-game buff build boredom through boss fight do-overs and more

A slightly strange aspect of Crimson Desert thus far has been that the more you get through it, the more enemies you beat, and the less enemies you actually have to fight. It’s been a contentious point for some who want to test out their buff boy end-game builds and only have hot air to slice at. All is not lost, however! As the latest update for the RPG has introduced some handy features that will let you experiment with these builds.

First up is the addition of a Rematch feature. This is exactly what it sounds like, an opportunity to fight all of the game’s bosses once more. You’re able to do this at any point in time, assuming you’ve already beaten the boss. To do so, you just need to light up your lantern at the location of a previously beaten boss fight and read the memory fragment to boot up the bout. Kliff, Oongka and Damiane will all be available to use in the fight, and there are two modes you can try out: Reminiscence, which lets you fight the boss “exactly as they were when you first encountered them,” and Resonate, where the boss’ stats scale to match your progression.

Then, there’s the Re-blockade feature. These will apparently “occur at a set probability for strongholds that meet specific time and condition requirements,” and are apparently “applied after a loading screen occurs, such as after saving and loading, or sleeping in a bed.” You’ll have three frequency versions to choose from, including Stable, where re-blockades don’t happen, Conflict, the now default setting where they happen intermittently, and War, where they happen frequently. The patch notes also explain that “during the Re-blockade, 13 different factions will carry out re-blockades across 23 forts and quarries.”

There’s more besides all of this in this update, like new legendary animals that can be kept as pets such as the Iron Eagle or Hyacinth Macaw. You can also now encounter the Mountain God Boar! Love that guy’s work. And there’s a whole bunch of other changes, tweaks and fixes you can read about in the patch notes.
