RIP Quiet Luxury: 3 Big Jewelry Trends for Fall 2026

Quiet luxury finally feels like it’s behind us, which should be great news for all the jewelry maximalists out there. As a society, we went from wearing bizarre twee statement necklaces to layers of dainty gold chains with charms to nothing at all. For those of us who loved to layer up necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, it was a difficult time. Terms like “ear party” and “arm party” that used to describe the excess layering of jewelry went from mainstream to extinct.

According to all the major runway shows this past fashion month, it seems as though the party is back. Models wore larger-than-life necklaces, bracelets of extra-big proportions, and earrings that defied gravity. You didn’t just see the accessories. You could hear them jangling down the runway.

Below, our three favorite trends we guarantee all the coolest girls will be wearing come fall.

Layered Necklaces

For a while, it felt as though no one was wearing a necklace. The stark bareness of necks was enough to give anyone whiplash considering most of us spent a huge portion of 2016 amassing a large collection of dainty gold chains to layer all together. That look is set to have a bit of a resurgence that feels messier in the best way.

At Chloé, models wore gold necklaces with charms layered over high-neck tops. Some might say a top that ties in a bow at the neck would be enough adornment, but what’s more boho chic than going one step further and throwing a necklace on top? It’s jewelry layering in a way we haven’t quite considered before that adds just enough oomph.

Chunky Gold Chains

The other extreme is also happening: chunky gold necklaces. And when we say chunky, we mean it. Think necklaces that are so thick they could double as a statue or piece of artwork on your bedroom armoire.

At Saint Laurent, models wore gold chunky chains that felt larger than life and beautiful enough to warrant a museum exhibit. The styling proves that a naked sheer lace dress doesn’t call for simplicity. If anything it makes big accessories that may be tricky to wear otherwise feel like a no-brainer.

Big Beads

By now, you may have noticed a pattern, and that’s that all the big jewelry trends are quite literally big. Beads have been in and out of the trend cycle for so many years now. But the newest trend doesn’t feature the kitsch of friendship bracelets or beaded souvenirs. Instead, it’s a little more mature.
