This week’s roundup of staffing changes on Parliament Hill.

We start this week’s Hill Movers with a look at the housing minister’s office.

Thomas Simpson (LinkedIn)

Thomas Simpson is stepping into new role as deputy chief of staff to Housing Minister Gregor Robertson.

“At a moment when the imperative to build has never been clearer, I’m motivated by our new government’s focus on getting more homes built at scale, and speed, and investing in modern and reliable infrastructure to build stronger, more  affordable communities for Canadians,” Simpson wrote in a post on LinkedIn.

Prior to joining the department, Simpson served as the vice president of advocacy and research at Food Banks Canada. He was also at Canadian National Institute for the Blind for eight years.

“I’m looking forward to supporting this ambitious mandate, working with partners across the country with affordability,” he wrote.

Also, Taous Ait is now the press secretary to Immigration Minister Lena Diab.

Ait was previously a press secretary with the official languages minister and the secretary of state for nature.
