First teaser for Alien: Isolation’s long-awaited sequel is here

Sega and Creative Assembly finally shared a brief teaser for their long-awaited sequel to Alien: Isolation to celebrate Alien Day 2026.

The teaser, which you can watch below, is titled “False Sense of Security” on YouTube. Its description reads: “A feeling of being safer than one really is.” We see a security door open on a disheveled alien base. A phone labeled “Emergency,” similar to the ones players use to save in Alien: Isolation, immediately stands out. There may not be any Xenomorphs or overt scares in this trailer, but it does a great job establishing the game’s eerie, dreadful tone.

It has been over 11 years since Alien: Isolation launched, so it’s gratifying to finally receive a teaser for its follow-up. Creative Assembly’s horror game is considered the best Alien game ever made, with the aggressive AI of the Xenomorph still being impressive in 2026. Although Alien: Isolation quickly became beloved in the Alien and survival horror communities, a sequel was never confirmed in the years following its 2014 launch.

Instead, Creative Assembly remained focused on its real-time strategy game series Total War, while a dedicated team worked on the sci-fi shooter Hyenas. In 2023, Sega canceled Hyenas before it could even launch. On Alien: Isolation’s ten-year anniversary in 2024, Creative Director Al Hope confirmed “a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.”

Not much else was revealed about the sequel until the Alien Day 2026 teaser. Although the teaser does not show much, it reaffirms that Creative Assembly is committed to developing a sequel to the beloved survival-horror title and confirms that the emergency phone save stations will return.

The release window, platforms, and even the title of the sequel have yet to be announced. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait another couple of years to learn more.
