Rihanna switched between two fall 2026 runway ideas in Mumbai on Saturday, moving from yellow-chartreuse Mugler to black Alaïa while celebrating Fenty Beauty’s latest expansion at Phoenix Palladium.

For the first look, Rihanna wore a custom combination of two Mugler fall 2026 runway pieces from Miguel Castro Freitas’ sophomore collection for the house. The chartreuse top, from look 20, featured a high neck, long sleeves and an oversized tunic shape, with fabric gathered down the front and knotted low at one hip.

With the skirt, from look 39, Rihanna carried the same shade into glossy leather, with a smooth fit through the hips before the lower half broke into wide, structured pleats. Matching chartreuse pointed-toe slingbacks kept the color uninterrupted.

She added diamonds and jewels from Mumbai-based designer Manish Malhotra, including a hathphool. The styling kept the look in the same power-dressing lane that Joelle Diderich identified in her review for WWD of the collection, where Freitas explored Mugler’s legacy through “power dressing and the power of dressing.”
Later, Rihanna changed into Alaïa fall 2026 look 37. The long-sleeved black dress — another high-neckline number — paired sheer black fabric through the arms and sides with a glossy croc-effect section over the center. The textured portion curved over the bust, pulled in at the waist and extended into a long tapered panel over the front of the skirt. At the sides, softer black fabric framed the textured panel.

She kept on the Manish Malhotra hathphool from the earlier look, now set against the black Alaïa rather than chartreuse Mugler. She wore the look with black open-toe heels on a slim stiletto.

The two-look switch came as Fenty Beauty continues to widen its global footprint. WWD’s Beauty Inc recently named Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation one of the 100 greatest beauty products of all time, placing Rihanna’s $40 foundation among the industry staples chosen by beauty insiders. In Mumbai, the fashion tracked with that scale: two current runway looks, two major houses and a beauty brand using the event to mark its next market.
