Battlefield 6 will have big maps up the wazoo by the time 2026 is done, including ones aimed at naval fights between folks in camo trunks

Following a tactical bong-rip with Battlefield 6’s second season earlier this year, EA have whipped out the big guns for the 2026 roadmap they’ve put out. It promises a lot across the rest oif this year, with the main things being a bunch of big maps and the introduction of naval warfare.

Naval battles are set to rock up in July as part of the second of three planned fieldbattling seasons, a big new map dubbed Tsuru Reef and a revamped version of classic map Wake Island serving as ideal settings for wet warfare. Tsuru Reef features “gigantic air and sea spaces, new naval-based vehicles, aircraft carriers with operational flight decks, plus a dynamic wave system” you can use to a tactical advantage, so it seems like everything you might want from a trip to the beach.

Prior to that, March’s update – Battlefield 6’s third season overall – will bring two maps of its own. Railway to Golmud, a reimagining of Battlefield 4’s Golmud Railway, is one of them and will temporarily capture the map bigness crown by being “nearly four times the size of Mirak Valley”, only to be gazumped by Tsuru Reef when that arrives. It’ll at least have Cairo Bazaar, a revamped version of Battlefield 3’s Grand Bazaar, to console it.

That’s it in terms of maps EA have pulled the covers off at this juncture, though there will be a further three mystery ones coming as part of season five in autumn this year, bringing the total in this roadmap to seven. Outside of the maps and naval battles, a host of new features are peppered across the three seasons, including some new battle royale options, custom lobbies, and a spectator mode so you can watch all of the squaddies playfully splashing each other. Proximity chat’s also coming, so you’ll be able to get up close and tell someone how majestic you think their breaststroke is, while a server browser with persistent servers are also en-route.

I’ve run out of jokes to make outside of just linking the beach volleyball scene from Top Gun, so you can check out the video and graphic I’ve embedded if you’re in need of more intel, shooter rules dictate I refer to regular old information.
