The work of an early access game, even when it’s hit 1.0, is never truly done. That is certainly the case for Hades 2, which has received its second post-launch patch today. Nothing mind blowing has been added in with this one, but there does seem to be a few more narrative threads tied up, and a number of quality of life changes.

For starters, as detailed in the patch notes, a couple of fated prophecies have received updates. Characters like Odysseus and Arachne now have narrated conclusion scenes, which you can check out in the fated list once you’ve completed their prophecies. Some changes have been made for bonds with characters too. In the first instance, “most” Crossroads characters can receive gifts indefinitely once you’ve forged a bond with them, providing “brief new scenes.” And any characters that Melinoë can have “non-Platonic relations” might even show a bit more interest in pursuing further relations. Ooh La La!

Beyond that, you’ll also hear some new bits of dialogue from “many” characters at “various points throughout the story,” so now is potentially a good time for a replay if you’ve been fancying one already. There’s also “dreamy new decorative items in the Crossroads Training Grounds, a new alternate form for each Animal Familiar, and additional surprises,” to come across too.

In terms of those quality of life changes, several boons and blessings have received some tweaks, like Ares’ Sword Ring being stronger, Poseidon’s Tidal Ring hitting multiple enemies more reliably, and Hestia’s Fire Away now working with all casts. A number of visual FX have been updated, along with a good number of Melinoë’s voice lines, who has a few new reactions to different events too.
