Ireland cutting gas tax after wave of blockade and protests cleared


Overnight, police cleared demonstrators from Dublin’s main thoroughfare, O’Connell Street, which is expected to be reopened in the coming hours after officers worked to remove parked vehicles, according to RTE. Authorities were also reported to have cleared a blockade of the M50 motorway, the country’s busiest.
