What are we all playing this weekend?

After months of pleading for the sun to show its face, I’m actually feeling quite warm now. Potentially, I’d go so far as to say I’m too toasty. I’m not saying I’m looking forward to winter. But I’m not not saying it.

Granted, I’ve not yet adapted my wardrobe to these summery climes, with my shepherd’s jacket, thick jeans, and thick slippers still in regular use. Nor have I swapped out the winter duvet (15 tog) to the summer spread (4.5 tog). And, I guess I could stop using a hot water bottle at my desk. But heaven forfend I make adjustments to match the weather.

While I sit here simmering at the thought of wearing shorts and vacuum packing a 15 tog monster, what are the rest of the team up to?

James
I’m back from a break and Julian says I have to play something other than STALKER 2 or my arse is, quote, “grass”. To that end I’m creeping ever further into the bony dungeons of Skull Horde, have lined up the demo of mysterious (and wonderfully pixel-drawn) RPG Neverway, and will try to give Road to Vostok a go, hopefully without it being wrathfully mistaken for any other post-Soviet survival shooters.

Callum
Falling in love with Pokopia has opened a whole can of worms in my life, and I really didn’t want to let them loose right now. I’ve caved to the cravings and started doing Pokémon Nuzlockes again. Randomised Nuzzlockes on Pokemon Black and White, to be specific. Life is too busy for me to get emotionally invested in my Azurill (who I nicknamed Bazooka), then open a deep pit of sadness in my heart when she gets sent to the permanent graveyard box by a random Rayquaza that Timmy, a child Pokémon trainer, managed to bag in the woods outside his house. Anyway, I will be getting revenge on Timmy and the rest of his elite child Pokémon training squadron this weekend.

Mark
I’ve got an Atomfall playthrough to close out by seeing a bunch of endings tied to its DLC. Other than that, I’ll likely be doing some driving in the likes of Dirt Rally 2.0 and Automobilista 2. I’ve also been meaning to hop back into Starfield whenever I get a chance, now its Free Lanes and Terran Armada updates are out.

Edwin
After Edwin’s last visit to the Maw’s intestine, we have decided to send him out into nature to touch grass and retether his consciousness to his mortal shell. He should be back to normal by teatime on Tuesday. Or else.

Jeremy
Pretty busy now that I’m back from my week with family doing tourist activities in London and Paris. All of my gaming time is going to be taken up by an upcoming title that I need to complete for walkthrough purposes (I shan’t say what it is, only that it’s very good). In the meantime, I also have dozens of Franco-Belgium comics to read, as I successfully managed to drag my niece and nephew to the bande dessinée shop to introduce them to Tintin and Asterix!

Ollie
Although Ollie has spent no time within the Maw’s gizzards – he is much too fleet of foot to be caught out by the ravenous creature – he made the mistake of making eye contact with Edwin as he emerged from the beast’s… exit. Such a shock has meant he, too, is taking some time to collect himself.

Julian
I’m at a stag do this weekend, so I won’t have much time to play videogames, what with two solid days of rage rooms, bar crawling and puking (read: boardgames, walks in the woods, and puking). But, if I have any time when I get back I’ve a few strategy games I can’t talk about that I really want to get stuck into. One of them looks sinfully good.

And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend…?
