  • Chris Hemsworth will return as Tyler Rake in ‘Extraction 3’.
  • Director Sam Hargrave is back behind the camera.
  • Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani are also set to return.

Even though Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake seemed to die at the end of the first ‘Extraction’ movie back in 2020, audiences responded so well to the action thriller that director Sam Hargrave and the team found a way to bring him back for the second in 2023.

And now it appears Hemsworth will return for more, with Deadline reporting that he’s signed a deal to play Rake a third time.

Hargrave is also back to call the shots (and punches, kicks, stabs etc.), with cast members Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani also back on board.

While we know that David Weil (‘Hunters’) is writing the script, the exact plot details are a mystery for now. But we can expect more crazed action from Tyler and the gang as they’re dispatched on another mission.

When will ‘Extraction 3’ hit screens?

Netflix has yet to confirm a debut date for the new movie, but it has scheduled a summer shoot to accommodate the star’s busy schedule (he also has to film ‘Kockroach’ starting this month), so we could predict a spring/summer 2027 release.
