It isn’t particularly difficult to find a simulation game of some kind that allows you to carry out the most mundane of tasks these days. Now you’ll have no trouble finding domestic chore life sims like Lawn Mowing Simulator or Leaf Blower Co. But once upon a time, games like House Flipper were all in there lonesome, a niche of a niche. And if you fancy seeing what the game that made games like these catch on is like in action, good news! House Flipper is free for you to keep over the rest of this weekend.
Yes, as the game approaches its eighth anniversary, it is zero dollars and zero cents. By weekend, I mean the entirety of this bank holiday weekend, so if for some reason you don’t have the time to click one button to add it to your Steam library, you’ve got a bit of time. The 100% discount is running until April 6th, i.e. this coming Monday, a bevy of time to complete such a task.
This freebie deal comes in the leadup to the release of the House Flipper Remastered Collection, a refreshed version of the game that comes with all of its DLCs and some prettier (depending on your definition) graphics. There’s actually a playtest happening for the remaster right now, running until April 6th as well – just head to the game’s Steam page to sign up for access.
Developer Frozen Way also shared its pricing system for House Flipper Remastered Collection, which gets cheaper depending on how many DLC packs you own. At its base, the remaster will set you back $50, which goes down to $46 if you own the original, and all the way down to $16 if you own six DLC packs. So, you’ve already got it down to $46 if you pick up the OG for free!
You can get House Flipper for free on Steam right here.
