These $98 J.Crew Pants Look Identical to Leset’s Kyoto Pants

The spring collections are coming in hot, getting fashion people excited to shed layers and embrace lighter fabrics and softer hues. While there’s a wealth of brands killing it in the warm-weather clothing department, one place that Who What Wear editors are looking to is J.Crew.

Under the creative and design direction of Olympia Gayot, the American label maintains a clear vision, offering clothing and accessories that the modern woman genuinely wants to wear. The spring lineup includes effortless, one-and-done maxi dresses, chic cotton sweaters—perfect worn alone or draped over the shoulders—and versatile button-down shirts ideal for layering over swimwear or pairing with denim. However, J.Crew’s standout category this season is its non-denim pants, which serve as the ultimate bottom when both comfort and style are priorities. The brand has just launched a new silhouette that we anticipate will quickly become the must-have item.

The pant in question is the Luna. As the brand describes it, it’s the “new relaxed pant you’ll live in.” It features an adjustable drawstring waistband for a customized, comfortable fit, roomy relaxed legs, a semi-cropped hem that hits just above the ankle, and crisp 100% cotton fabric that lends a polished look while keeping you cool on warm days. The detail that caught our fashion eye is the panel detailing down the legs. This detail also made us pause and think to ourselves, these look familiar, and then realize that they are nearly identical to Leset’s Kyoto Pants.

Monikh wears a navy jacket, white tee, navy kyoto pants, and flip-flops.

For those unfamiliar, the Kyoto pant is a spring staple, loved by It girls. It features the same drawstring waistband, relaxed silhouette, and panel detail, and is simply an easy, lightweight pair of pants that fashion lovers turn to when they’re tired of denim. From Kaia Gerber in L.A. to content creators in London, everyone owns the Kyoto and styles it with ballet pumps or elevated flip-flops, a V-neck sweater, or a sporty jacket.
