A search-and-rescue operation is underway Friday afternoon for two crew members from a US fighter jet said to have been shot down in Iran, according to Axios, which cited a source familiar with the incident.

Iranian state media circulated photos and videos it claimed showed the wreckage of an F-15, including an ejection seat, and said the aircraft had been downed. Additional footage appeared to show a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and two UH-60 Black Hawks that Iranian outlets said were involved in the search effort.

The Associated Press also reported that Iranian state media urged residents to turn over any “enemy pilot” to police, offering a reward for doing so.

Since the war began, Iran has made at least six previous claims of shooting down US aircraft, all of which have been denied by American officials. At the time of writing, US Central Command has not yet issued a statement on the incident.
