The Rugged, Waterproof JI Osmo Action 4 Action Camera Can Record at 4K and 120fps for Just $199

Thinking of getting a new 4K action camera for your outdoor adventures but don’t want to pay the GoPro tax? Amazon has just dropped the price on the popular and well-rated DJI Osmo Action 4 4K Camera Essential Bundle, now only $199 with free shipping after a $90 instant discount. Just like the GoPro Hero 13 Black, this is a tiny waterproof action cam that can record 4K video at up to 120fps, all at a much more affordable price point.

The Osmo Action 4 isn’t DJI’s newest model (the Action 6 claims the throne here), but it’s easily the best value. This $199 action camera is capable of recording 4K video at up to 120fps. The lens features a f/2.8 aperture with a wide 155-degree FOV for capturing as much of the action without the outmoded fish-eye effect. It’s also equipped with a generously sized 1/1.3″ sensor for good low light performance. DJI’s “Rock Steady 3.0” image stabilization is comparable to GoPro’s “HyperSmooth” tech to keep your video smooth and jitter-free, and in most cases a gimbal isn’t required.

The Osmo Action 4 includes an “Extreme’ 1,770mAh battery that can last up to 150 minutes on a single charge. The front and rear dual displays make it easy for you to compose your shot no matter what angle you’re shooting from. The rugged housing is waterproof to 54 feet, so you don’t have to worry even in the roughest of conditions. I have taken this camera out with me when I go kayak fishing and it has performed admirably (and it’s still working). In my experience, the Osmo Action 4 doesn’t overheat as quickly as the GoPro, so it will record high-res video in an enclosed environment for longer.

What exactly is included in the Essential Combo?

  • The Osmo Action 4 action camera
  • The 1,770mAh “Extreme” battery
  • Horizontal-vertical protective frame
  • Quick-release adapter mount
  • USB-C cable
  • Small parts
