National Bank of Slovakia Announces New Research Funding Opportunities


The National Bank of Slovakia is inviting research proposals to support economic and financial studies, with grants ranging from €5,000 to €70,000. 

The Foundation of the National Bank of Slovakia has launched a grant call aimed at promoting projects in the fields of economic and financial research. Researchers and institutions are invited to submit proposals, which may include applications for doctoral studentship funding, across various economic research disciplines.

Interested applicants can request grants starting from €5,000, with a total of up to €70,000 set aside for successful proposals. The Foundation emphasizes support for a broad spectrum of research topics but has stated that i will prioritize studies that align with identified priority areas, such as:

  • Transmission of monetary policy and inflationary effects on households and businesses
  • Macroeconomic implications for the real estate market
  • Price dynamics across sectors
  • Impact of population ageing and migration on labor markets
  • Economic and financial ramifications of climate change

While applications are encouraged on various topics, there is a thematic preference for research directly related to Slovakia, Central Europe, and the euro area, reflecting the analytical needs of the National Bank of Slovakia.

The supported projects will last between 12 and 39 months, between October 1, 2026 and December 31, 2029.

For those interested in applying, the deadline for submission is set for June 10, 2026.
