Kylie Jenner’s Spring Nail Jewelry Manicure Screams Coachella

We often turn to Kylie Jenner for beauty inspiration, whether it be her latest lip combo or the occasional hair switch-up. (Who can forget her iconic return to blue-streaked strands for her limited-edition King Kylie collection for Kylie Cosmetics?) But what we most reference the youngest Kar-Jenner sister for is her stunning portfolio of trend-setting manicures, many of which have been the handiwork of celebrity manicurist Zola Ganzorigt.

Famous for creating the glazed donut manicure on Hailey Bieber and responsible for a hefty portion of our favorite celebrity sets (ahem, Jenner’s jelly plaid nails and Jennie Kim’s red C-French tips), Ganzorigt is one of the first artists we’ll flock to when looking for new nail inspo. As if seeing our manicure bat signal, she and Jenner dropped footage of the star’s latest look for spring—a gem-bedecked set, carefully placed in colorful floral clusters that fall perfectly in line with the blingy trend that top celebrity nail artist, Tom Bachik, just broke down in an exclusive tutorial with Who What Wear.

Jenner recently posted this video to her Instagram story, fluttering her crystal-encrusted tips to show off the bouquet of pale, glittering flowers cured onto a semi-sheer pink base. Call it a coincidence or divine timing, but Bachik (aka Selena Gomez’s go-to manicurist) just demonstrated how to achieve a very similar nail jewelry look at home with a UV lamp, pink gel polish, and a few sparkly gemstones. (He prefers flat-backed Swarovski gems for the best refraction, FYI.)

How to Recreate Kylie Jenner’s Spring Nail Jewelry Manicure

1. Prep and Paint the Nails

To most accurately recreate this look, you’ll want to either ask for a gel manicure at the salon or pull out your UV gel lamp at home. But if regular polish is your go-to, fear not—you can still partake in this trend, just be prepared for your gems to fall off a bit faster than they would with gel.

Onto the paint job! Bachik recommends starting with a thin layer of base coat—and getting as close to the cuticle as possible—before moving onto your base polish. Jenner’s light pink hue looks extra perfect for spring, and we’ve found a few lookalikes for both at-home gel manicurists and regular lacquer enthusiasts alike.

2. Sandwich Topcoat and Crystals

After allowing your pink nail polish to cure under a UV lamp (or dry, if using regular nail polish), you’ll want to go in with topcoat—but only one nail at a time. Bachik explains that it’s important to limit your focus to one nail in the topcoat and application steps, which should happen within seconds of each other, because “the crystals would slide with the topcoat” if you applied each gem to every nail before curing.
