Versace and Ontisuka Tiger Reveal Tai-Chi Sakura Sneaker Campaign

Versace’s hotly anticipated footwear collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger is here.

And in tandem with the release, Versace has revealed a new campaign shot by Frank Lebon. According to the Italian luxury brand, the campaign “captures the visceral energy of a collaboration built on dynamism – an expression of movement and physical power, rooted deep in the heritage of both Versace and Onitsuka Tiger.”

The collection – which centers around the Tai-Chi Sakura sneaker – has all the ingredients for a hit: the on-trend slim design, eye-catching detailing like the Medusa stud and double stitching along the signature side stripes — and a retro outsole hailing from the Onitsuka archives, with Versace’s creative vision.

The shoes are crafted in the Sanin Tottori factory in Japan with “carefully selected” Italian materials. Each pair undergoes a final artisanal wash, giving the leather a lived-in, vintage feel. Colorways include a two-tone metallic leather, suede options in green, blue and brown, and nappa leather versions in white, yellow, black and pink. The Tai-Chi Sakura sneakers retail for $750.

Conceived under the creative direction of Dario Vitale, who stepped down from his role at Versace in December, the collaboration was first revealed on the runway in September 2025.

Ahead of the release, the shoes have already been seen on “Industry” star Myha’la, Paris Opera principal ballet dancer Guillaume Diop, French actor François Civil and Chinese actors Chang Huasen and Yu Shuxin.

Aside from the sneakers, the collaboration also features the Tai-Chi Sakura loafers. Available in a Brown/Blue and a Brown/White colorway, the penny loafer silhouette is made from soft vegetable-tanned calf leather and is treated with hand-applied waxes to give each shoe more depth and shine. They feature double stitching on the Onitsuka Tiger stripes, a Medusa stud on the vamp, and are set on ultra-soft leather soles. The style retails for $995

The Onitsuka Tiger x Versace footwear collection is now available online at versace.com and select Versace boutiques in the U.S., while distribution across APAC and EMEA varies, the company noted.
