The Formula

Coming in the same formula and rollerball pipette applicator as the Colour Wash Blush Tints (£44), these watercolour-esque bronzers deliver a sheer wash of bronze to the skin before drying down into a long-lasting stain. Ingredients-wise, you’ll find activated sea water, antioxidant-rich fruit extracts and hydrating coconut water in the formula for a juicy glow, even once the stain has set onto the skin. Whilst I adore the powder bronzer from VBB, these dewy bronze tints are a welcome addition to my makeup bag when I crave something lighter.
The Shades

At the moment, there are just two shades to pick from: Tanline and Heatwave. Tanline is a sheer, golden bronze hue, whereas Heatwave provides a deeper and cooler-toned tint. I’ve been using Tanline to add warmth to my sun-starved complexion as we head into spring, but I’ll absolutely be reaching for Heatwave come summer, when I’ll undoubtedly crave a bronzed glow. Both look dark in the bottle, but rest assured that these are so sheer that they leave just a hint of pigment once blended onto the skin.
The Application
These bronzing tints have a pipette applicator with a rollerball on the end, which allows you to scribble a controlled amount either directly onto your skin or on the back of your hand, if you prefer (just be prepared for a long-lasting stain there too!). I would usually steer away from a bronzing stain for fear of it going wrong, but these allow generous blending time before setting, and the watery texture means you get a very sheer tint. I love it as it allows you to achieve a wash of sun-kissed colour, or layer applications for more depth.
I like to apply a couple of drops to one cheek at a time, and then use a fluffy makeup brush to blend, applying any excess on the forehead, nose and chin. The watery textures apply seamlessly over foundation or bare skin, and the lightweight consistency means they look incredibly natural on the skin, drying down into a watercolour stain that has a dewy radiance to it. Think of the well-rested glow you only get after two weeks in the sun. I’m in awe of just how natural-looking these tints look, delivering a convincing sun-kissed glow wherever you apply them.

I’m putting it out there: this might be one of my favourite new beauty launches this year. I love how fresh and dewy these bronzing tints make my skin look, and although the pipette applicator looks a bit daunting to use, the formula is so sheer and effortless to blend that you really can’t go wrong with them. Once set, they last really well throughout the day and because of the lightweight consistency, it never looks heavy or cakey on the skin like some bronzers can. You’re just left with a realistic veil of sun-drenched colour. The bronzer shade range is limited with just the two hues to choose from, so I hope to see some more options soon. But otherwise, I really cannot fault them. Bravo, VB.
