“If the Iran war is prolonged, global lenders’ stagflation fears will rise,” said Bloomberg Intelligence analysts Herman Chan and Philip Richards. “A prolonged global supply shock could have more severe implications for European banks,” they added, noting a bigger impact on Europe’s energy markets than those in the US.
