I’ve been debating whether to get lip filler for ages. The thing is, I’m terrified of needles, which makes the whole thing a lot more difficult. So, over the years, I’ve tested some of the best lip balms, lip plumpers and lip liners to see if any of these products will help give me the appearance of a fuller pout. While I’ve found plenty of favourites along the way, nothing has delivered results quite like the Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions Lip Tint.
You may have heard me speak of Dr. Dennis Gross before, as I’m a big fan of the brand’s LED mask and exfoliating skincare treatments. However, I’d never tried the original DermInfusions Plump + Repair Lip Treatment, a clear lip balm/lip gloss hybrid designed to deliver a plump, glass-like finish in seconds. So, when the brand released tinted versions earlier this year (meaning you can get fuller-looking lips and a hint of colour in one go), I was desperate to get my hands on them.
Luckily, a few samples turned up at my desk, and since testing them out, they’ve quickly become my go-to product for tricking everyone into thinking I’ve had lip filler on the sly. Seriously, my friends asked me the other day if I’d finally bitten the bullet and had lip filler done, and you should have seen their faces when I said it all down to this £26 lip balm. Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions Lip Tint Review
The Formula
You’re probably wondering, how does a humble lip balm deliver such noticeable results? Interestingly, in-clinic procedures inspired the formula, and, as you can see from the packaging, the product actually looks a little like an injectable treatment. It contains a powerhouse blend of hyaluronic acid, peptides (you know we love a peptide lip balm), squalane, bisabolol and centella asiatica to transform dry, chapped lips into a plump, glossy situation before your very eyes.
The Shades
This product originally launched in a clear shade, but there are now four tinted versions available, including pale pink, beige, deep berry and rich chocolate brown. I personally opted for pale pink as I wanted that “your lips but better” finish. That said, I think the deep brown shade would also look incredible for a ’90s lip look.
The Application
As mentioned above, this product doesn’t look like your typical lip balm or gloss. Instead, it reminds me of an injectable treatment. To apply it, you click the base of the tube to dispense your desired amount, and the brand recommends starting at the fullest part of your lips and staying inside the border (sometimes I also like to use a lip liner stain to outline my lips beforehand). Just a heads up, as with most lip plumping treatments, this can tingle a little at first, but the feeling doesn’t last long.
The Results
Before
After
As you can see, this product plumps the lips while adding glossy, glass-like shine and a subtle tint (no lip stain needed). I’m honestly obsessed with the before-and-after results. You can probably tell from the before picture, but I have incredibly dry, chapped lips with a lot of fine lines. This product creates a smoothing effect and makes my lips look so full and hydrated. It’s no wonder my friends thought I had lip filler when I first wore this. If you want a do-it-all lip product so you don’t have to carry a lip balm, lip gloss and lipstick in your handbag at all times, I recommend adding this to your basket ASAP.
