Save 23% Off the Sonos Roam 2 Waterproof Portable Speaker During the March Madness Sale

The weather is starting to warm up, which means it’s time to take out the outdoor gear you’ve been stowing away since winter. Whether you plan to tailgate at a sports game or camp out in the woods, consider bringing along a portable speaker to share good tunes with your friends and family.

As part of its March Madness Sale, Sonos is offering a 23% off discount on its popular Roam 2 wireless portable speaker. Normally it’s listed for $180, but this deal brings it down to $139 with free shipping. You can play it safe and pick either white or black since they match with everything, or you can go a little bold with the sunset, wave, or olive colors. Either way you better hurry, because this sale ends on March 29.

Sonos, as always, does a good job of delivering excellent sound quality in a compact footprint. The Roam 2 measures 6.6 inches by 2.3 inches by 2.4 inches and weighs just under a pound, so it’s easy to stow away in a bag of any size. Because the Roam 2 is intended to be used outdoors, the shell is IP67 rated, meaning it’s completely protected from dust and is waterproof up to 3 feet underwater for 30 minutes.

The diminutive chassis houses one tweeter, which covers the high-end, and one mid-woofer, which handles the mid- and low-end. Both drivers are paired Class-H digital amplifiers. The internal lithium battery can run the speaker wirelessly for up to 10 hours before needing to be recharged. A built-in microphone allows for voice control, although there are also physical touch buttons conveniently placed on one end of the speaker.

Although the Roam 2 frequently goes on sale during Sonos’ bigger sale events, I’ve never seen the price drop lower than $139. In fact, this matches the lowest price I saw during Black Friday. If you’re looking for the best possible price for this particular speaker, you’re probably looking at it.

More Audio Deals During the Amazon Spring Sale

The Amazon Spring Sale is going on right now and there are plenty of audio deals to be found there as well. Purists will contend that there’s no such thing as a “budget” audiophile. That shouldn’t stop you from pursuing the best sound you can afford, even if your budget isn’t limitless. Here are several options that offer great audio performance at a price that won’t break the bank, including even more Sonos soundbars and speakers.
