The Best Trench Coats Spring 2026


Inevitably, every spring, the trench coat comes back without fail. I see it as the foundational coat of the season, an enduring layer that never goes out of style.

Shopping for a trench coat is, of course, subjective, and there are so many kinds to choose from, no matter what your taste is. I personally prefer a single-breasted version in black, so that’s what I’m currently looking out for. Other options include double-breasted styles, belted or unbelted designs, funnel-neck shapes, patterned fabrics, and a range of lengths and colors. The list goes on.
