Minister Sidhu to advance Canada’s trade priorities at the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference in Cameroon


March 24, 2026 – Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, will be in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from March 26 to March 29, 2026, to represent Canada at the 14th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference (MC14). Trade ministers, ambassadors, and senior official from around the world will meet to advance discussions on strengthening the international trading system, foster inclusive economic growth, and address global trade challenges.

During the conference, Minister Sidhu will meet with international counterparts and senior government officials to advance Canada’s trade priorities and promote an open, predictable and inclusive international trading system that supports fair competition and prosperity through international cooperation.

On the margins of the conference, Minister Sidhu will hold bilateral meetings to reinforce Canada’s trade relationships and explore opportunities to deepen cooperation with key partners, including countries in Africa and Canadian businesses operating in Cameroon.
