Cathay Pacific plans more flights in 2026 than in any other year. According to the
oneworld member’s schedule submission to OAG, the carrier has scheduled an average of 174 daily departing passenger flights from Hong Kong. Compared to its prior record, which was last year, its offering has jumped from 160 daily outbound services—strong growth of 9%.
These numbers are somewhat misleading. That is because Cathay’s regional carrier, Cathay Dragon (formerly Dragonair), was subsumed into its own operations. When the two airlines are combined, 2026 is only the ninth-best year on record. Daily departures have fallen from a high of 212, which was available in 2018.
Cathay’s 10 Longest Nonstop Passenger Flights In 2026
The following list is ordered by the maximum block time, which is taken from the airline’s schedule submission to OAG. This is measured as chocks-off-to-chocks-on, or stand-to-stand or gate-to-gate. It includes taxi time at both airports, flight time, and a period for short delays. It is what is shown on Cathay’s website, in other booking locations, and in schedules.
Cathay’s longest route is from
Dallas/Fort Worth back to
Hong Kong. The maximum block time of 17h 15m is longer than Delta Air Lines’ longest offering, although it is marginally quicker than what is first for Qatar Airways. Naturally, it is much shorter than Singapore Airlines’ number one service, although it is not really a like-for-like comparison.
As you’d expect, the inability of Cathay—like so many carriers—to overfly Russian airspace contributes to some of the very high block times. Of course, this is just one consequence of the restriction. Others include higher fuel burn, more emissions, and a less competitive offering relative to other carriers that are less impacted. There is currently no indication when the restriction will be lifted.

Cathay’s Dallas Service Explored
Cathay’s inaugural passenger flight from the Pearl of the Orient to the critical oneworld hub of Dallas/Fort Worth took place 11 months ago, on April 24, 2025. Without the carrier’s alliance connection and strategic relationship with American Airlines, this very long route would probably not have commenced. American operated the route itself between 2014 and 2020.
In April 2026, CX876 will depart from Hong Kong at 4:05 pm and arrive in Texas at 5:50 pm local time the same day (14h 45m). Returning, CX875 will leave Dallas at 10:55 pm and get back at 5:10 am two days later (17h 15m).
According to the US Department of Transportation, Cathay carried 103,090 round-trip Dallas passengers between April and December 2025. Despite being a new route, it filled a considerable 89.7% of the available seats, with five months exceeding 90.0%. Of course, it is about how it is achieved. Was the yield performance very strong? More on the route in a separate article soon.

Manchester Is The Longest Non-North American Route
Cathay’s first passenger service to Manchester was in December 2014. While the long route was originally served sub-daily, it became daily in 2018. That frequency remains in place today.
In April, May, September, and for most of October, the 368-seat 777-300ER—without new Aria suites and new premium economy—will be flown. This equipment having considerable freight capacity, which is great for the route. The 280-seat A350-900 will operate at all other times.
According to the UK Civil Aviation Authority, Cathay carried 170,967 round-trip Manchester passengers in 2025. When related to OAG data, the carrier filled 91.9% of its seats. The usual caveats apply. Booking data suggests that approximately 53% of passengers connected to another flight in Hong Kong. Japan, Australia, and mainland China were the top three countries.
