Air Canada plane collides with vehicle at New York’s La Guardia Airport



An Air Canada passenger plane collided with a vehicle on a La Guardia Airport runway late Sunday, authorities said.

The New York Police Department’s media affairs office confirmed the collision between a plane and what appeared to be a Port Authority of New York vehicle, but did not provide any information on possible injuries.

The New York Fire Department confirmed an incident took place on a La Guardia runway at 11:38 p.m. but had no details.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it was gathering information regarding the situation. It did not provide any other details early Monday.

Information on any possible injuries was unavailable.

The airport is in the East Elmhurst section of New York City’s Queens borough.
