Virgil Abloh Archive x Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Alaska’ Raffle Sign-Up

One of the most anticipated sneaker releases of the year thus far is finally here as the Virgil Abloh Archive x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska” collaboration is up for grabs in an online raffle.

Originally released in 2018 as a European exclusive and branded as the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High, the all-white deconstructed model now receives its first-ever wide release. The only change to speak of between the 2026 iteration and the ’18 original is the stamped name on the medial side, which now reads “V.A.A. for Nike” instead of Off-White after Abloh’s estate distanced itself from the streetwear brand he founded following his passing.

Although it was the Chicago Bulls-colored Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High which led the way for Abloh’s groundbreaking “The Ten” Nike collaboration, the white colorway actually represents his original vision for the shoe. It was a white pair that Abloh originally famously sliced up with an X-Acto knife at Nike’s Beaverton, Ore. headquarters, stripping away layers and revealing internal components of Michael Jordan’s iconic first sneaker.

“Stripped of those Bulls colors, the AJ1 becomes prototypical, an ur-Jordan that shifts the focus from the man himself to the sneaker’s form and structure,” reads a description on virgilabloh.com.

Another factor that contributed to the original white Air Jordan 1 design was its tendency to turn yellow and show age quicker. Instead of attempting to preserve a sneaker in its pristine form, Abloh’s outlook was to embrace the decaying process — and maybe even speed it up a bit.

“V.A.A.’s mission is to keep Virgil’s ideas alive. The Archive exists not only to preserve Virgil’s work, but to share it with great care and intention. Virgil treasured his collaboration with Nike, and the Air Jordan 1 was deeply significant for him. As a teenager, it sparked his dream of becoming a designer, and it was the first pair he designed for Nike. It’s an honor to continue this partnership under the banner of V.A.A. for Nike, advancing Virgil’s creative legacy together through exhibitions, publications, cultural programming, and new editions of his iconic designs,” said Shannon Abloh, founder and president of the Virgil Abloh Archive.

After in-person World Fair activations in Los Angeles and New York City, an online raffle for North America and Asia Pacific is open now until Monday at 9 a.m. ET on canary—yellow.com. The Virgil Abloh Archive x Air Jordan 1 High OG Alaska retails for $230 and its style code is AA3834-100.
