The men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments are midway through the opening weekend. There haven’t been many big upsets on either side yet, but there’s still plenty of time for chaos. All the chalk also hasn’t kept most brackets from being busted.

Michigan (No. 1 Midwest Region)

Yaxel Lendeborg scored 25 points as the top-seeded Wolverines beat the No. 9 Billikens to continue an NCAA tournament streak that dates back to 2017. Michigan has made the NCAA tournament seven times in the past decade. It has made it to the Sweet 16 in all seven of those appearances. — Nick Bromberg

Round of 32: Beat Louisville 77-69

All-Big Ten point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. led the Spartans with 12 points and 16 assists against a Louisville team that was clearly missing injured All-ACC guard Mikel Brown Jr. Fears’ 16 assists matched the total produced by the entire Louisville roster. They were the most ever by an MSU player in an NCAA tournament game. — Jason Owens
