🚨 Senegal appeal to CAS after losing Africa Cup of Nations title

After the CAF decided to strip Senegal of the African champion title to award it to Morocco, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced that it will file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Several analysts suggest that Senegal will argue that the referee’s decisions regarding everything related to the game, including the final result, are final once the match has ended according to Rule 5 of the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

“Africa and the world will recognize the champions of the CAN Morocco 2026! Senegal will keep its trophy no matter what. It is a very sad day for African football!” declared Augustin Senghor, former president of the FSF and currently an arbitrator within the CAS.
