Kojima Productions and Nixxes Software are launching the critically acclaimed sequel on Steam and the Epic Games Store with a handful of new additions, such as a high-level challenge mode, but those who own the game on PS5 will also have access to new features thanks to a free patch. The PC version is also getting the full Nixxes treatment with a range of advanced settings and support for upscaling technology to get the most out of your setup.

What time does Death Stranding 2 release on PC in your time zone?

Death Stranding 2 launches on Windows PC on Thursday, March 19 at 10:30 a.m. EDT, according to Nixxes Software’s launch details page. Here’s what time Death Stranding 2 will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store:

  • 7:30 a.m. PDT on Thursday, March 19 for the west coast of North America
  • 10:30 a.m. EDT on Thursday, March 19, for the east coast of North America
  • 11:30 a.m. BRT on Thursday, March 19 for Brazil
  • 2:30 p.m. GMT on Thursday, March 19 for the U.K.
  • 3:30 p.m. CEST on Thursday, March 19 for Central Europe
  • 2:30 a.m. JST on Friday, March 20 for Japan
  • 4:30 a.m. AEDT on Friday, March 20 for the east coast of Australia

Can you preload Death Stranding 2?

Yes, you can preload Death Stranding 2 on Steam if you’ve already purchased the game. It takes up 150GB of space, so if you have pre-ordered it and want to play at launch, preloading is a good idea.

For anyone who has purchased Death Stranding 2 on Epic Games Store, there has been no official confirmation that you can preload the game, so, unfortunately, you may need to wait a bit before you can start playing.


What’s different in Death Stranding 2 on PC?

Kojima Productions is adding a handful of new features to the PC version, which will also be included in the PS5 version in a free patch that goes live on March 19.

  • “To the wilder” modes, a series of high-difficulty porter challenges in extreme environments filled with dangerous enemies.
  • A Chiral Feline who visits the DMV Magellan (and shows up in photo mode).
  • “Trapped in a Strange Realm” VR training challenges where you can replay confrontations with Neil and earn new bandanas.

Additionally, Nixxes’ PC-specific improvements are similar to what the studio added to previous PS5 ports.

  • AMD FSR, Nvidia DLSS, and XeSS upscaling and frame generation support
  • Ultrawide options
  • Mouse and keyboard layout and full DualSense compatibility, including haptics
  • Ray tracing and ambient occlusion graphics settings for PCs that support them
