Nike Air Max 95 Mexico IR5900-030 Release Date

Adidas is the outfitter Mexican National Football Team, but that isn’t stopping Nike from making sneakers celebrating the country’s culture for the sport ahead of the World Cup.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Mexico” joins the fray with a treatment using the same theme as an Air Force 1 Low revealed last week. Featuring the popular Big Bubble Air Max unit more true to the model’s original proportions, the sneaker plays on the colors of Mexico with white, green and maroon.

White leather forms the bulk of the upper, with a dotted flame graphic running across the striped panels in green and red. Green is then used for the leather toe cap and heel, as well as the outsole and liner. More maroon comes via the lace loops, Swoosh, tongue patch and forefoot Air units, while the midsole is rendered in an eggshell color to suggest aging.

On the heel comes the same pink “Tiempo F.C.” logo for a fictional club that appeared on the Air Force 1 Low. “Amor Que No Se Apaga,” which translates to “Love That Never Fades,” also comes over on the insole and repeats again on the outsole.

Also leaked alongside the Mexico-themed Air Force 1 Low was a rendition of the same sneaker made for the U.S. National Soccer Team, which is sponsored by Nike. Two more pairs of Air Max 95s have emerged for South Korea and England, both Nike programs, and only the latter bears official marks for the squad similar to the U.S. sneaker.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Mexico” doesn’t have a confirmed release date but is expected during the summer fashion season, likely at the same time as the Air Force 1 Low. Pricing is set at $200.
