What are your thoughts on bill C-22?

allthecanadianpolitics Answer:

The Canada Disability Benefit is a net positive, but not all disabled people qualify.

Also it only gives a maximum of $200 per month, which does help if you’re living on disability, but we’re already living below the poverty line and this isn’t enough to really change that much.

Its better than not having the money, but disabled people (myself included) deserve a lot better.

newsfromstolenland:

speaking as someone who recently started receiving this benefit, it’s better than the nothing that the federal government gave us before, but it definitely doesn’t account for the cost of living (especially given the extra costs faced by those of us with disabilities)
