The federal government’s new Defence Industrial Strategy makes clear that Canada is no longer content to be a passive consumer of other nations’ defence systems. Canada intends to rebuild and rearm itself as a serious defence-industrial power. It comes at a critical time, in an unstable world, and with regions like our Arctic more contested than ever.
