Kate Middleton took a casual approach to her suited styling in pieces by Catherine Walker and more for her London royal engagements alongside husband Prince William on Thursday.

The Princess of Wales continued her streak of Catherine Walker looks following Monday’s Commonwealth Day Service with the British royal family. On Thursday, Middleton wore a bespoke blazer in a gray and black Prince of Wales check pattern — made famous in the early 20th century by King Edward VII during his Prince of Wales days.

Along with the blazer, Middleton added a pop of springtime color with her classic Oxford Celeste blue shirt from the sustainable British womenswear brand With Nothing Underneath. The royal added a pair of dark trousers from British label Joseph, belted by a Me + Em piece.

For finishing touches, Middleton wore Jimmy Choo cocoa-toned boots and accessorized with her Cartier trinity earrings. The Princess of Wales’ attire for Thursday’s engagements highlighted one of the qualities of her royal wardrobe: her affinity for British designers and labels.

Since officially joining the British royal family in April 2011, following her marriage to Prince William, Middleton’s been inclined to style several pieces by Britain’s ready-to-wear fashion labels and couturiers. McQueen and Jenny Packham are among the royal’s favorites for formal attire, while Catherine Walker, a preferred designer of the late Princess Diana, has also dressed Middleton for occasions like Commonwealth Day, among other events.

While prioritizing British brands and designers, Middleton also makes room in her wardrobe for American designers like Ralph Lauren, wearing several of the label’s suited pieces and outdoorsy wardrobe staples within the last year alone.

Thursday’s royal engagements across London for the Prince and Princess of Wales included a visit to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to hear about their work saving lives on the River Thames, as the charity celebrates 25 years of RNLI Lifeguards. The couple also paid a visit to Borough Market in London.
