But in “You with the Sad Eyes,” Applegate reveals what she hid behind the persona.

But as she told Janet Somerville in the Star, she wants the book to start “community conversations about child abuse, about rape, about generational trauma, about breast cancer, about all this stuff that a lot of us have been through.”
