Nate Oats’ Alabama Crimson Tide head into the 2026 SEC Tournament in Nashville with nine wins in their last 10 games.
Alabama (23-8 overall, 13-5 SEC) wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the year’s conference tournament after jumping out to a 22-point first-half lead over Auburn last Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway scored 21 points apiece in a 96-84 win over the Tigers to close the regular season.

The Crimson Tide led by as many as 28 in the second half en route to their third straight win over Auburn. In the top 25 polls, Alabama rose one spot to No. 15 in both the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 this week.
The latest NCAA Tournament projections from ESPN, CBS Sports, and veteran analysts Jerry Palm and Andy Katz have the Tide as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament with Selection Sunday only a few days away.

Alabama basketball holds firm in NET rankings ahead of SEC Tournament
Alabama is No. 17 in the NET rankings, the same spot as this time last week. The Crimson Tide had risen to No. 15 after their 71-69 win over the Tennessee Volunteers on Feb. 28 in Knoxville before a 98-88 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens.

Alabama has seven Quad 1 victories this season: against St. John’s, Illinois, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Auburn, Arkansas, and Tennessee. The Crimson Tide’s 90-83 victory over LSU in Baton Rouge on Feb. 21 was downgraded to a Quad 2 victory after LSU fell outside the top 75 in the NET rankings.
Alabama is now 9-1 against Quad 2 opponents after Saturday’s win over Auburn in Tuscaloosa.

In the updated KenPom ratings, Alabama is up one spot to No. 15 after its win over Auburn.

The Crimson Tide have an overall KenPom rating of +26.15, up from +26.03. That includes a 129.8 rating on offense that remains No. 3 nationally behind Illinois and Purdue. The Tide’s 103.6 defensive rating is 66th nationally, up one spot from last week.
In the overall KenPom team ratings, Alabama is one spot below No. 14 Louisville and one spot ahead of No. 16 Tennessee.

Alabama will face the winner of Thursday’s game between No. 7 seed Georgia and either No. 10 seed Texas or No. 15 seed Ole Miss, who play Wednesday. Georgia plays the Ole Miss-Texas winner on Thursday.

With the benefit of a double-bye, the Crimson Tide will open SEC Tournament play at 6 p.m. CT Friday at Bridgestone Arena in the quarterfinal round. Alabama’s game will be televised on SEC Network.
