Apparently, it’s been 40 years since Mario first graced the shores of North America. Clearly that can’t be true, because 1986 was only 20 years ago, but suffice to say, the little plumber and his silly hat have been a part of our lives for a very long time.

On March 10, aka Mar10 Day, we get to spend some time celebrating Mario and remembering all the joy his antics have brought us over the decades. Whether you’re in your early teens now, playing the latest Mario Kart, or, like me, have played Mario games since the previous century, today is a day to enjoy this mustachioed hero.

The gamers here at CNET are keeping an eye out for any new announcements about Mario and his friends today. Nintendo often has fun announcements on March 10, from new Switch 2 games to Lego releases. We’re also going to highlight some great deals on Mario games and toys, though our larger Mar10 deals roundup will be the best place to find most of those.
