Timeless Tailoring & Structured Elegance

At Dice Kayek, precision has long been the point. And for fall, designer Ece Ege once again turned to tailoring as the foundation for her wardrobe of careful construction.

Menswear-inspired jackets with defined shoulders anchored the collection, paired with asymmetric skirts, sculpted peplums that gave a subtle nod to the New Look, and gorgeously cut shirts finished with lavallière bows. The volume on the shirts managed to be both extravagant and not overpowering.

Checks and pied-de-poule in autumnal brown and black reinforced the tailoring theme, while subtle embellishments such as Ottoman-style beading on shirting, added texture without disrupting the overall restraint.

For Ege, structure is not merely aesthetic. It’s psychological. “First is shape and structure. When a garment is cut correctly it embellishes you — you look slimmer, taller, younger and your self-confidence is sky high,” she said. Posture is presentation, here.

That philosophy could be felt in the ease of the silhouettes. Jackets sat cleanly on the shoulders, while skirts and dresses introduced movement through asymmetric cuts and pleating. One signature dress — first introduced in 2009 in lacquered leather — returned this season in new fabrications, with its sculpted shoulder folds in Italian wool.

Fabric is the foundation to her work, Ege said. Checked wools sourced from Italy sat alongside the label’s in-house twills, while familiar evening silhouettes were reworked with beading on cropped jackets and silk satin skirts were in slim beaded and ballgown shapes. It is all meant to be “timeless,” she said.

That practicality also reflects the current moment. As global uncertainty weighs on luxury spending, Ege said that people are thinking more carefully about what they buy. “When they invest in it, they know they will keep that jacket. They won’t throw it away in six months.”
