Woman critically injured after SUV crashes into stopped STM bus in Montreal-Nord


MONTREAL — A 25-year-old woman is in critical condition after an SUV crashed into the back of a city bus on Saturday in Montreal.

Montreal police say the collision happened shortly before 5:50 p.m. in the Montreal-Nord borough at the intersection of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Salk Avenue.

Montreal’s public transit agency says the bus was at stop when it was struck from behind.

Police say the woman, a passenger in the SUV, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, while the 29-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.

No one on the bus was hurt.

Police say the cause of the crash is unknown, and investigators are reviewing nearby surveillance cameras and speaking with witnesses.
