Barbara Palvin Leans Into the Python Heel Trend at Elie Saab in Paris

Barbara Palvin brought the python shoe trend to Elie Saab’s fall 2026 show in Paris on Saturday, wearing a pair of snakeskin sandals that seemed to be pulled straight from the runway. The model attended the show at Carrousel du Louvre during Paris Fashion Week in Look 3 from the collection, then finished it with heels in a matching print.

The pale python sandals combined a peep toe, a high-cut vamp and slender straps that crisscrossed behind the heel before fastening at the ankle. A tall wooden stiletto heel, finished with a small gold accent near the top, sharpened the back of the shoe, while the cutaway sides pushed the silhouette toward a d’Orsay. Palvin paired the shoes with a belted, knee-length trench in the same print, buttoned high at the neck and cut with broad shoulders and cuff straps.

The sandals added another distinct Fashion Week shoe turn to an already varied run for Palvin. She wore glove-style black heels at Fila in Milan earlier this month, powder blue pumps at Mugler on Friday and black Duchesse pumps at Balenciaga earlier on Saturday.

Python and snake-effect shoes are having a moment during Fashion Week. Just two weeks prior at the Burberry’s winter 2026 show, Kate Moss and her daughter Lila coordinated in the label’s python pumps. And just two days prior to the Elie Saab show, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King twinned in a pair of snake-effect Chloé heels at the label’s Paris Fashion Week show.

The animal print has been in the mix elsewhere this season, too: Teyana Taylor wore Nina Ricci’s python boots to Variety’s pre-Golden Globes party at the beginning of January, while Charli XCX turned up in Rodarte’s python boots at Sundance just a couple weeks later. Below, see more stars embracing the broader animal print shoe trend of 2026.
