Latest Arsenal injury news on Rice, Raya, Havertz and Odegaard

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has delivered the last injury news on six members of his squad, including Declan Rice, David Raya, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League game at Brighton, Arteta said “I hope” Rice will start going off against Chelsea.

The midfielder requested to be substituted in the second half of the Gunners’ 2-1 win over the Blues, but is feeling “much better” now.

Odegaard, though, remains a doubt. He was unavailable to face Chelsea at the weekend due to a knee problem he picked up against Brentford in February.

A late decision will be made on Havertz’ involvement. The playmaker made his return from a muscle injury when he came off the bench against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Raya is “good to go” after dealing with a niggle, Ben White is unavailable and Max Dowman has recovered from an ankle injury and is in contention after playing for the U21’s team.

When asked which Arsenal players could be available to face Brighton, Arteta answered: “Especially Kai. He has done part of the session so we will have to wait and see whether he is available and then in what conditions.

“Martin is the other one. We will see. We have to wait and see how comfortable he is to do certain actions.”

On Rice, he added: “He was much better today. We haven’t really trained because we only have two days to prepare for the game, so hopefully he is going to be better tomorrow.”
