Death. Taxes. Thomas the Tank Engine quickly being modded into new games. Resident Evil Requiem’s the latest one to gain the privilege of hosting some steam engine antics, buit this time around it’s not solely for goofs. Capcom are yet to add an arachnophobia mode, so a modder’s stepped in to swap out spiders for my friend and yours Thomas the Tank Engine.

As you can see in the video above, Thomas fits seamlessly into Requiem’s grim spookfest. You’ll barely notice the difference, aside from him not being an eight-legged creature you’re not a fan of. Thomas is, of course, just as intimidating a foe. His unblinking stare bores through to your very soul, and the fact he can fly about rather than being confined to rails adds an extra layer of spine-chillingness.
This Thomas mod’s the work of prolific Resi and Dead By Daylight modder ZombieAli, who’s got plenty of previous experience when it comes to slapping the engine into Capcom’s horror flicks.
This time around, they look to have been spurred into action by a simple distaste for creepy crawlies. Though, let’s face it, no modder needs a second invitation to crack out Sodor’s finest. To get the mod working, you’ll need to grab REFramework, and install ZombieAli’s creation using the latest version of Fluffy Mod Manager.
Oh, and if you’re equally as terrified of trains as you are arachnids, a couple of other Requiem modders have put out their own arachnophobia modes which swap the creatures for terrifying formless blobs or a lucky dip box of birds, rats, and tiny Tyrants. Actually, neither of those seem all that cuddly a replacement for the bugs either. Maybe you should just try playing with your eyes and ears covered or stick to reading reviews.
