Middle Eastern airline
flydubai has just released its full-year financial results for 2025, with the last calendar year having been a fruitful one for the Dubai-based operator. Among the carrier’s headlines were record figures as far as passenger traffic and revenue were concerned, alongside a 6% capacity increase.
Elsewhere, flydubai’s fleet and network grew, and the airline has plenty to look forward to as far as further growth on these fronts is concerned. Away from quantifiable factors, the carrier has also taken meaningful steps forward in terms of its passenger experience and product offering, with these innovations standing flydubai in good stead for another strong year in 2026. Let’s crunch the numbers and see just how good 2025 was.
The Key Figures
All in all, flydubai served 140 destinations last year, with a record total of 15.7 million passengers traveling on its flights. This growth was enabled, in part, by a 6% increase in capacity, with this figure rising to more than 47.1 billion available seat kilometers across a grand total of 126,604 flights. On the financial side of things, flydubai’s revenue also grew by a factor of 6%, rising from $3.5 billion to a record high annual total of $3.7 billion.
When offset against its various expenses, this resulted in a profitable year for flydubai, with the airline posting a pre-tax profit of around $591 million at the end of 2025. Operationally, another area that saw a 6% increase was the airline’s punctuality (in terms of the number of on-time departures). All in all, flydubai had plenty of reasons to be cheerful last year, with Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who serves as the Chair of flydubai, explaining that:
“By connecting the city to more than 100 underserved markets, flydubai has contributed to attracting more visitors and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a gateway for trade, tourism, and opportunity.”
Strong Network & Passenger Growth Across The Board
Even after tax was taken into account, flydubai still registered an impressive net profit of around $531 million in 2026. This strong nine-figure sum represents, as the airline puts it, “the strength of its strategic network expansion, continued investment in innovation, enhancements to its customer experience, and a sustained commitment to serving underserved markets.” This network expansion was driven by widespread passenger growth.
Indeed, the airline notes that three of its key markets saw two-digit percentage increases as far as passenger demand was concerned, with the Middle East up by 17%, while Africa and Europe both saw 12% spikes. Across the board, business class demand saw even greater growth, rising by an impressive 19%.
As previously noted, flydubai’s network grew to feature 140 destinations last year, with nine of these being new additions. It also resumed flights to a further three cities, and now serves a grand total of 58 countries. However, as detailed in our coverage below, even with 787s incoming, it doesn’t plan to serve the US.

The Current State Of flydubai
Going forward, flydubai looks set to continue its impressive growth trajectory, given that, as detailed in the table below, current data made available by ch-aviation shows that its fleet is set to more than double in size when considering outstanding orders. Indeed, the carrier currently has 97 jets at its disposal, compared to an order book of 145. Its current fleet also has the benefit of youth, as it clocks in at an average age of just 7.4 years old.

This year, according to Cirium, an aviation analytics company, flydubai is scheduled to operate a grand total of 132,756 flights, offering 22,713,370 seats and 31,487,597,394 available seat miles in the process. All of these figures are higher than those from 2025, indicating that 2026 will be another year of growth for flydubai as the carrier looks to retain its upward momentum. Its fleet will also hit the three-figure mark, with 12 deliveries expected.
