The Super Mario Galaxy Movie may still have an unannounced character popping up on its release

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is only a matter of months from release, and it now seems an unannounced character may play a key role in the upcoming sequel thanks to a slight slip up by one UK cinema chain.

Please be aware of potential The Super Mario Galaxy Movie spoilers below.

As spotted by IGN, luxury cinema chain Everyman recently released a description for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which read thus:

“After defeating Bowser and saving Brooklyn, Mario faces Wario and Bowser Jr.’s evil alliance. Now, alongside his friends and Yoshi, he must stop their plans for world domination.”

Yep, that’s Wario’s name you read there, Nintendo’s zig-zag moustachioed and purple dungareed wearing Mario-like caricature of a man, who is instantly recognisable by his bellicose cackle.

Since IGN spotted the cinema listing pointing to Wario’s inclusion in the forthcoming film, Everyman has now changed its wording, and there is no mention of Nintendo’s antihero. But, who could play Wario if he does indeed show up in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is set to debut this April? I guess time will tell…

Along with Mario, Luigi and – perhaps – Wario, the upcoming animated sequel will also see Bowser Junior and Rosalina joining the chaos. Rosalina is being voiced by long-time Nintendo fan, Brie Larson.

Earlier this year, we were treated to a new trailer, which was introduced by Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto. This trailer saw Mario and Luigi pull up to investigate a “troubled pipe”, while also offering us our first look at Yoshi and Birdo.
