Saturday mornings are hopefully for not feeling hungover or beaten-up or assassinated. You see, it’s Friday as I write these words, and I’ve just been invited out for drinks in the park with one Graham Smith, former RPS EIC and nowadays, co-founder of disgraceful champagne socialist operation Jank.cool, an indie joint the rabble-rousers among you are already calling “RPS when it was good”. What’s the matter, aren’t we feeding you enough Deals posts?
Assuming he dares show his turncoat face, I imagine Graham will be packing heat, which is why I plan to open the proceedings with a flying kick from the bushes. Graham will counter with his infamous “Hell’s Carousel” chokehold, and I will riposte with my patented “Hat Secretly Full Of Spiders” manouevre. I realise that some of you have been reading RPS for over a decade, and are likely more familiar with the Graham Smith moveset than I. Please advise. Assuming I survive this battle, I’ll need tips for the next. In the meantime, here’s what everybody else is doing this weekend.
Mark:
Some quiet behind-the-scenes work I’ve been doing this week has me fancying a bit more Wipeouty BallisticNG zero-g racing and a few stages on Dirt Rally 2.0. I’ve also got Outbound’s Next Fest demo downloaded because its camper van house building looks quite cool.
James:
Prematurely releasing Steam Next Fest demos seems to be the current games marketing best practice, so I’ll be playing snippets of Denshattack (obvs) and sci-fi comedy co-op FPS Far Far West.
Ollie:
I’ve slipped back into Baldur’s Gate 3 this week, rejoining the meandering travels of my Cleric of Selûne through the middle of Act 1. I’m handling the goblin camp completely differently this time around, and discovering all the intricacies I missed in my first playthrough has been compelling enough to make me forego a dangerous amount of sleep for the past couple days.
Jeremy:
Buddha have mercy, I am done with Nioh 3. Except for a few extra jobber bosses I need to mop up and add to our boss list guide, but those don’t really count. So this weekend I will breathlessly be moving onto the next game that we need to cover for guides, and taking some baddies to suplex city. Some of you cultured individuals may be able to guess the game from that sentence alone.
Julian:
After writing about accidentally playing a horny match-3 game, I’ve reinstalled good safe Bejewelled 3. And Puzzle Quest. Also Demon’s Mirror. Oh no, three match-3 games in a row – they’ve all disappeared!
Edwin:
Assuming I haven’t been slain by Graham, I will be playing a Secret Thing and maybe, possibly, more Pathologic 3. I still need to cure that plague, and finish the final chapter of my Butchering “Butchering Pathologic” series. Then I’ll need to go back and fix the other two articles. This is possibly not an efficient usage of time.
But you, reader dear – what are you playing this weekend?
