That sound of galloping hooves? It’s the impending arrival of the new Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse, cantering our way when the lunar calendar turns a fresh page on Tuesday.           

It will be a year of “significant global change,” says Paul Ng, a Toronto-based geomancer (one who divines by reading patterns in the earth, sand and geographic features) and philosopher whose predictions for the lunar year ahead are always eagerly anticipated by his clients. “Nations will witness profound shifts, and new policies will emerge unpredictably, akin to the flames rising from the lake — powerful yet unpredictable.”
