Nicole Kidman is rekindling with her curls.
After her years-long stint with straight and blown-out hair, the 58-year-old “Babygirl” actress returned to her signature ’90s hair aesthetic on Wednesday, donning a head full of wispy coils on her way out of Sydney.

The brunette underbelly of her hair was exposed as she exited a black car in head-to-toe Chanel, while the top half of her hair boasted its usual blond mix with bouncy layers and soft fringe.
When it comes to her color, Kidman’s been known to dabble in a kaleidoscope of red, orange and blond hues, though she always goes back to strawberry ginger. And while she’s certainly reached for the blow dryer and flat-iron more recently, she favored her natural curls on her rise to stardom.

The “Big Little Lies” lead has collaborated with a slew of celebrity hair artists over the years, including WWD Hairstylist of the Year Adir Abergel. Abergel has crafted a number of Kidman’s internet-breaking looks like her blond bangs at Matthieu Blazy’s first Chanel presentation in October and her superfine, slicked-back bob for the 2025 Met Gala.
In a previous conversation with WWD, Abergel reflected on styling Kidman for Chanel and the difficulty of balancing the client’s needs with everyone else’s. “When I’m working with these people, it’s not just about them. I’m working with some of the most amazing makeup artists to some of the best people in the world. I’m surrounded by people at the top of their field doing such beautiful, impactful, pop cultural, referential work. And so it’s about building these beautiful, deep relationships and being able to kind of go ahead and be a storyteller with hair,” said Abergel.

Kidman’s not only Hollywood star to trade straight ends for messy waves. In fact, rising stars Odessa A’zion and Connor Storrie have been among those leading the curl movement, on and off the screen.
