Stockport 0 – 0 Leyton Or

Ten-man Stockport were held to a goalless League One draw by lowly Leyton Orient at Edgeley Park.

Home defender Josh Dacres-Cogley was shown a second yellow card after 80 minutes to leave his side at a disadvantage.

Leyton Orient midfielder Ollie O’Neill forced Ben Hinchliffe into a superb diving save with a powerful shot from inside the box before Oliver Norwood struck the crossbar with an audacious 17th-minute free-kick as both sides went close early on.

Theo Archibald rattled the crossbar with a fierce drive from the edge of the box as Orient began the second half brightly.

Jack Diamond bent a curling effort wide before substitute Adama Sidibeh lost his footing when played through on goal as Stockport began to dictate play as the half wore on.

But any momentum Dave Challinor’s men were beginning to build was lost 10 minutes from time, when Dacres-Cogley was shown a second yellow for a shirt pull on Dominic Ballard as the Leyton Orient striker broke forward.

Stockport midfielder Josh Stokes made a crucial goal-line block to keep out O’Neill’s low strike before Hinchliffe got down low to deny Josh Koroma in stoppage-time as Orient failed to find a late breakthrough.
