This week’s movers on the government relations scene.


Emily Williams has joined Enterprise Canada as a director of strategic communications.
In a post on LinkedIn, Enterprise Canada shared that Emily Brings “more than a decade of experience spanning senior roles in Canadian politics and private-sector public relations, advising leaders at the highest levels during moments of national and international consequence”.
Emily joins Enterprise Canada after having worked on both Mark Carney’s Leadership campaign as a national communications lead, followed by working as the director of media relations in the Office of the Prime Minister.
In a press release sent to iPolitics, Aurora Strategy announced Bryan Leblanc, Denis Coderre, and Lisa MacLeod have joined the firm as principals.


In the statement, Aurora Strategy stated, “Their combined expertise strengthens our ability to serve clients across federal, provincial, and municipal landscapes with even greater depth and reach. Each brings decades of senior-level experience navigating complex policy environments and delivering results under pressure— qualities that align perfectly with Aurora’s commitment to providing clients with strategic counsel from seasoned professionals only.”
Bryan Leblanc joins Aurora Strategy with more than twenty years of experience in government relations, strategic communications, and issues management. Having served in senior roles supporting five Ontario Cabinet Ministers across seven portfolios, Bryan has directed communications and stakeholder engagement.
Denis Coderre served as Montreal’s 44th mayor and represented the riding of Bourassa in the House of Commons for over fifteen years, holding several federal ministerial positions including Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and President of the Privy Council.
Lisa MacLeod is a nationally respected leader in public policy and strategic leadership. A former six-term MPP and Ontario Cabinet Minister who held multiple senior portfolios including Tourism, Culture and Sport; Children, Community and Social Services; and Women’s Issues, Lisa directed multi-billion-dollar budgets and shaped policy across major social and economic sectors.


Spark*Advocacy announced the joining of Véronique Simard as an account director.
Véronique brings a wealth of governmental experience, working previously as Mélanie Joly’s director of operations. Before there she worked as a speech writer in the office of the Prime Minister.
In a statement provided to iPolitics, Véronique stated, “I’ve had the opportunity to work on campaigns, in government, and for global consumer brands. I’m excited to draw from that to help tell stories from a different perspective.”
