What’s on the agenda for the House and Senate committees today.
In addition to the multiple ministerial appearances previewed in iPolitics AM, three more Team Carney front benchers are set to hit the committee circuit today, starting with International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu, who — accompanied by senior trade negotiators and officials — will brief INTERNATIONAL TRADE members on a proposed new trade deal with Indonesia. Meanwhile, Industry Minister Mélanie Joly will field questions on her mandate during a one-hour virtual session with SCIENCE AND RESEARCH members. (12 p.m.)
Later this afternoon, Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon will provide his perspective on the “challenges” posed by AI at ACCESS TO INFORMATION, PRIVACY AND ETHICS. (3:30 p.m.)

- GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ESTIMATES members will get a briefing from Information Commissioner Caroline Maynard. (11 a.m.)
- FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT members examine Royal Canadian Navy operations in the Taiwan Strait with senior departmental and military officials. (3:30 p.m.)
- OFFICIAL LANGUAGES members hear from the Canadian Airports Council, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority and Marine Atlantic Inc. as part of their ongoing study of administrative monetary penalties. (3:30 p.m.)
