Tune in for 30 minutes of fresh (and refreshed) Switch and Switch 2 games
A new Nintendo Direct is coming on Thursday, Feb. 5, Nintendo has confirmed. The next big Nintendo Direct games showcase will focus on titles from Nintendo’s third-party partners for Switch and Switch 2, not on games published and developed by Nintendo itself.
Thursday’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will stream on Nintendo’s YouTube channel at 6 a.m. PST/9 a.m. EST, and will run approximately 30 minutes.
Nintendo hasn’t revealed which third-party developers or which games will be showcased during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, but there are a long list of potential candidates. Capcom is set to drop Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2 later this month, as well as ports of Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Resident Evil Village. The company could also be represented with the promising-looking Pragmata or Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. FromSoftware also has a couple of games in the works for Switch 2, including the long-awaited Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods. Beyond that, Square Enix has The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales on the books for 2026, as does Level 5 with Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.
Additionally, there are rumors of more ports headed to Switch 2, with role-playing games like Final Fantasy 16 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 said to be on the way. Less likely to appear is the announced, but indefinitely delayed port of Borderlands 4 and a port of Baldur’s Gate 3, which developer Larian Studio says has fallen by the wayside over its relationship with Hasbro.
Nintendo’s Direct Partner Showcase follows two recent livestreams dedicated to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
